She received a B.A. from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has been a member of the District of Columbia since 1980, a member of the Maryland Bar since 1981, and a member of the Virginia Bar since 1986. Ms. Cummins is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for Maryland, the District of Columbia and the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia. Ms. Cummins concentrates her practice in civil litigation , focusing on personal injury, wrongful death, malpractice, civil litigation and family law matters. She has argued cases to the Supreme Court of Virginia, the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
